The island of Spetses, in the Saronic Gulf, is an important historical port for commerce for boats in Greece and the Mediterranean. The new port of Spetses is called Dapia by the locals and is the nerve center of the island. Methana is an ancient city on the Peloponnese peninsula, well known for its thermal waters. It is rich in volcanoes and gas, like methane, which comes out of the surrounding mountains.
