Saranda is connected by the sea with Ionian Islands (Corfu). The ferry route between Saranda and any other destination is temporarily not covered by any operator connected to NetFerry online ticketing system.
The port of Saranda is the main port of the city and because of its strategic position in the Mediterranean it has grown in importance over the years and seen an increase in tourist flows and expansion to allow cruise ships to dock here. The port connects Albania with Italy, from the port in Brindisi. There are also daily ferries and hydrofoils to the Greek island of Corfu.
The port is located right in the center of the city, so you can find hotels and restaurants nearby and just outside the port there is a taxi rank. The port of Saranda is about 250 kilometers from the city of Durres, which is a 4 hour drive away. It is 170 kilometers from the city of Valona, which takes about three hours, and from Igoumenitsa in Greece it is 85 kilometers, which takes less than two hours.
If there is no direct line from Italy, we recommend booking a ferry to Igoumenitsa and then proceeding overland to Saranda. It is possible to reach the port of Saranda from the other centers of Albania with buses that depart daily.
