Guide of Belfast

Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland and is located in a bay on the northeast coast of the island. It is here that the Titanic was built and today the city dedicates an entire neighbourhood and a monument to this tragic ship. It is an interesting capital from a cultural and artistic point of view as well as a very developed industrial hub.

A brief history of Belfast

In the 12th century, a manor castle was built by John de Courcy and it was from this spot that the city of Belfast grew. The city developed and became an important, flourishing cultural and commercial centre. This growth continued for about two centuries until Belfast became the most industrialized city on the island, specializing in the production of linen, tobacco and home of the Navy. The Second World War marked the city in a very severe way due to the heavy bombing that almost destroyed it.

The city has many parks where you can spend time hanging out, there are also many sites of cultural interest including museums and cultural centres to keep you busy.
